Two Award Winning Filmmakers to Management Positions

Dallas, TX – YouPlus Media, LLC is pleased to announce the promotion of two of its highly acclaimed filmmakers and producers. Jun Kang has been promoted to Creative Director and Brandon Carmichael has been promoted to Director of Production.

Jun Kang is an award winning writer, director, producer and editor in both film and digital media. Kang has held a wide variety of creative and executive positions in both Austin and Dallas and has been affiliated with YouPlus Media since 2010.  His awards include “Best Editing” – Austin International Film Festival; “Best Script” – SXSW; Finalist for “Best Short Film” – Cinema Tous Ecrans (Geneva International Film Festival); and “Best Filmmaker in Dallas for 2011” – Dallas Observer. Kang moved to Texas in 1986 from Seoul, South Korea and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Radio-Television-Film.

Brandon Carmichael began his film career in the United Kingdom working for the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival.  Upon returning to the U.S., Carmichael continued his career as a Producer at Big Fish Films and as Creative Director at Prestonwood Baptist Church.  He joined YouPlus Media in 2010.  Brandon’s films have won multiple awards including: “Best Director”, “Best Film”, “Best Sound” – 48 Hour Film Festival; “Best Sound Design” – 168 Film Festival 2011; Nominated for 10 Awards – 168 Film Festival 2012. Carmichael studied filmmaking at Wheaton College where he received a BA degree in Communications-Film, and completed a post-graduate program at Focus on the Family.
